Experimental, ambient pieces of drifting drone characterize Asaurus artist When I Know You Will Too's Astoria, and for people like me who sometimes just want some music to relax to, this will be a very nice find. Dreamy layers of peaceful bells and ambiance float through Astoria's nine tracks, and the whole thing perfectly reflects Asaurus' irresistible handmade, DIY approach.

But it's clear that When I Know You Will Too will never make great listening music. It's okay as relaxation material, or as a background to regular activities (major stress-reliever!), but it's hard to imagine this as something you'd lie back and concentrate on. As well, Astoria is never going to achieve any mainstream popularity, mainly due to the lack of beats and hooks.  Though that's a given.

Yet this doesn't matter to the Asaurus crowd. Lo-fi ethics rule, and a record like this - intensely listenable and yet far from accessible - is certainly worth a bit of mailorder. Relaxation is only five dollars away. And while you're at it, pick up some of Asaurus' comps, too. If you're into DIY sounds, you won't regret it.
