Monte Moir

"This Side of Paradise" CD

Lagoon, Inc.

Genres: soft pop, adult pop, soft rock

Mar 22 - 28 2004

Monte Moir's style reminds me of Peter Cetera's hit single "Glory of Love."  This Side of Paradise is soft pop, fueled by lush vocals and light keyboard accompaniment.  The tunes are quite catchy, but it's pretty obvious this is the type of music played in supermarkets and Walmarts.  I've never really known anyone who follows 'soft-rock' religiously, but these simplistically infectious, inoffensive numbers might be able to make a small impression in the adult music market.  Even I found myself humming "I'm The One Who Loves You" the day after.
