Film ist.Musik, as if it weren't quite clear already by that bar on the left of the screen, is a collaborative effort between Hannes Loeschel, Gustav Deutsch, and Velvet Lounge.  Combining experimental conceptualism with more melodic chamber music, Film ist.Musik is a soundtrack to a 16mm film by Gert Weihsmann.

The album boasts an excellent combination of experimental and more accessible sounds.  The two "Beep Song" tracks, for example, are pure avant-garde electronic tone repetitions.  Meanwhile, there are less abstract pieces present as well.  "Vario" is a delicate, emotional contemporary strings piece and "Riverso Vivo" weaves seamlessly, making for a beautifully repetitive chamber work.

Overall, Loeschel et al have done a fantastic job with this release.  Film ist.Musik is a recommended album for both experimental listeners and fans of contemporary chamber music.
