Hackensaw Boys

"Look Out!" CD

Nettwerk Records

Genre: bluegrass, country rock, Americana

August 2007

Ever seen O Brother, Where Art Thou? Remember "I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow," the classic bluegrass anthem that the film made huge? Well, Look Out! is a whole album full of that type of fun-lovin', barn rockin' stuff. "Oh, Girl," "Radio," and "Just One Chance" are my favourites on this release due to their instantly memorable melodies and jovial tone. Not all of the songs brandish as many hooks as the best, though this is a fiercely consistent record - the uptempo mood is kept throughout, and none of the songs are outright mediocre. This is nothing original, but you gotta love some good old fashioned fun every once in a while.
