Poopy Dys

"Son of Post-Op Transatlantis" EP

Cosmic Pancake Productions

Genre: experimental, prog, electronic

Halmstad, Sweden / ???

October 2009

More kooky weirdness from wacky prog-experimenter Ogo Dys aka Magnus Lundberg, this time teamed up with Poopy Necroponde. Following a distinctly Bruce Haack-ian opener comes several characteristically peculiar numbers, from intergalactic free jazz to omniscient monologuery to extravagant rock-opera fare near disc's end. This isn't the most inspired effort I've heard from this troupe (there's another excellent Ogo Dys / Poopy Necroponde split album out that deserves your attention more urgently), but this is still an interesting little blip in Lundberg's growing discography. I recommend you try his other efforts before you attempt this one, though. Unexpected highlight: last track's female "yeaaaah" sample, which I'm pretty sure is one of the bonus sounds that comes with all Yamaha keyboards.

N.B. Lundberg also records prolifically as hardcore act Netjajev Society System.
