Reducers SF - Crappy Clubs and Smelly Pubs
(TKO Records - www.tkorecords.com)
(Genres: punk, pub-punk, street rock)
Reducers SF,
the punksters who created 1999's "Backing the Longshot," bring us another dose
of aggressive, fast-paced punk for all to enjoy. Songs like "No Control"
are full of catchy chants and guitar riffs, while songs like "The Mill" pack
enough energy to get you up out of bed and into high gear. Like lots of punk, the
lyrics are usually angry and somewhat against-authority. "Empty Bottles"
talks about drinking (The simple joys of one beer doesn't mean a thing/It's the fifteen
after that you've gotta watch"), while "Pop Star" speaks of the downsides
to being a pop phenomenon ("Hundreds at yer every command/Business deals, the future
sealed/The dollar bin's the only place you'll be found".) "Never Find
Me" is another goodie that is sure to get your veins pumping. This stuff is
just enjoyable, rebellious punk music that all you punk kids can enjoy. The day I
listened to it I forgot to floss my teeth.
