This short single collects two songs, clocking under 10 minutes, of strong,
catchy indie rock. The title track, which is, oddly, the second track on the cd, is
probably the best. It clocks in at just under 6 minutes, but features awesome, powerful
guitarwork, and serious, almost spoken vocals. At one point, the guitar completely takes
over, producing a mind-numbingly good solo that makes you want to throw yourself to the
floor and spasm wildly, except in a good way. The first track, "Sway," is
enjoyable as well, very catchy and fun to listen to. The pounding guitars and catchy
chorus of "sway/to the sound/of your conscience/coming down" make this a
definite winner. There are definitely other influences here, other that just plain old
indie rock, as there seems to be considerable portions of emo, punk, and even a bit of
darkwave. Both songs here are great, and I suggest that you either get this for 2 bucks
from SWS, or at least listen to the tracks here: http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/183/henry_sam_ocean.html.
I can't wait until their full-length (if it ever actually happens.)
