[Genres: minimal electronica, idm, electro]
These
are 2 vinyl-only releases by pulseprogramming that were produced in limited editions of
1000. What we have here is some really nice, enjoyable minimal electronica. The first
piece, on the first record, stands out as one of the best on here, mixing odd
"vocals," a soft beat, and a synth background. Most of the music here is very
melodic and calm, using a lot of synth in the foreground, with soft, serene beats in the
background. Some of the pieces, such as "The Unity of Continuous Fatigue," are a
bit more strong and less soothing. This adds a mixture that really works, and makes the
two records seem more epic. "The Picture Part of the Musical," on the other
hand, is a dark, haunting, ambient piece that reminds me of Sigur Ros without the vocals.
There is obviously a difference between the two records here, as the first is more
"beaty and meaty," where as the second is more ambient and moody. All in all,
both records work well off each other and should be purchased as a set. Only 1000 were
made, as well, so it might be a good idea to get it as soon as possible.
